New Group Members: Welcome Anele and Sihle

We’re excited to welcome two talented new MSc students, Anele Msomi and Sihle Gqoboka, to the Kimberlite Research Group at the University of Cape Town. Both Anele and Sihle will be diving into fascinating research projects focused on diamonds from the Helam mine—an important site for understanding diamond genesis and mantle processes.

Anele and Sihle bring fresh energy and enthusiasm to our team, and their projects will contribute valuable insights into the characteristics and formation histories of these exceptional diamonds. Their work will involve detailed mineralogical and geochemical analyses, helping to unravel the complex story recorded by the Helam diamond suite.
